August 7, 2009 - It's hard not to feel very proud today as we
get results back from the Swatch
FIVB World Tour 2009 in Stare Jablonki, Poland, where former CAPS star Cate Eckhardt
('06) and her partner Kacie MacTavish got back to work representing Canada -
this time on arguably the toughest beach circuit in the World. Cate and
Kacie won their Qualification Tournament first round match against Italians
Laura Cavaluzzi and Alessia Lombardi in straight sets before drawing the top
team in their division. The girls weren't able to maintain their momentum
against that Finnish team of Nystrom & Nystrom, losing in two, but the
event was certainly a step forward for this long-standing partnership.
