CareerCAP Tess Edwards (’05) invited to 2009 Canadian National Team Selection Camp

April 3, 2009 — It has been announced on the Volleyball Canada website that CAPS alum and current University of Ottawa Gee-Gee Tess Edwards (’05) has been invited to the Senior Women’s Indoor National Team Selection Camp. During the Gee-Gees’ 2008-2009 season, Tess was amongst the leading Canadian setters in service aces, kills, blocks and total points scored per game.
According to the Volleyball Canada website,
“The purpose of the Senior National Team Program is to identify, select and train a group of athletes who have the potential, or have the demonstrated international skill and experience, to represent Canada at the elite level.”
Tess will join her former uOttawa teammate Ariane Thibault and 54 other Canadian girls in Winnipeg, Manitoba from May 18-21, working hard to earn one of 28 spots on either the Senior Team and/or the B/FISU (International University Sports Federation) Team.
