Hard-fought silver medal for 14U CAPS in Brighton(PHOTOS) By Cathy Murphy, with photos by Adrien Dawoodjee
March 28, 2009 — The 14U CAPS began the OVA 14U Girls Open Zone E with a strong start! The team rallied together and brought focus, determination and – most importantly – a positive attitude to all of their games.
The CAPS were led by Captain Haroula, who did a great job motivating the team and showing their capabilities on the court. The girls did a great job of remembering fundamentals and positioning. Their learning curve in their first year of competitive volleyball has been steep, but it’s been amazing to see how quickly they have transferred their newfound skills to the court.
Thiis weekend’s event was the highlight of the season so far, as the CAPS held their own against some strong opponents. Their only loss of the day came in a well-fought match against the Peterborough Thunder, who narrowly edged us out (26-24, 25-19). But our Baby CAPS brought home a silver medal!
Congratulations on a job well done and many thanks to our wonderful coaches Louis and Julie!
