January 31, 2009 — This weekend the ‘Baby CAPS’ travelled to Kingston to compete in the OVA 14U Girls Challenge Cup – Zone D

In their best performance yet, the girls all played like pros.  They had a smooth start to the day with a 2-0 win over the Kingston Cats and followed this up with a hard-fought 2-1 win over Pegasus.  With two wins behind them, the team took on the Panthers, whom they had lost against in Newmarket in their first tournament, and defeated them two games to one.  The girls then met up with the Orillia Suns for the first time and put their fourth straight win under the belts with another 3-set victory.

Despite having played many games already, the CAPS were still going full throttle as they were matched up against Northumberland Breakers.  After a 19-25 first set loss to the Breakers, the girls rallied and only narrowly lost the second set 25-27.

In their final match of the day, the team once again faced off against Pegasus.  In a nail-biting battle, the CAPS lost 2-1 to finish fourth overall!

Thanks to our dedicated coaches for guiding the girls through a successful day!
