December 6, 2008 — The 14U “Baby CAPS” played in their first tournament of the season in Newmarket, the OVA 14U Girls Provincial Cup. Although many of the matches were close, and the last two games went to three sets, game winning scores were elusive. Their overall placement in the tournament, however, was no reflection of the wonderful time had by all. With two girls missing due to illness or injury, the remaining nine players carried us proudly through the tournament.
Overall, this was a tremendous team-building event and an opportunity for the 14Us to experience for the first time the depth of play within the OVA 14U division. A huge round of applause to head coach Louis Lemay, as well as to Assistant Coach Julie Lemay, for their ongoing efforts in preparing the girls for every aspect of this first tournament.
