November 25, 2008 — In CCAA competition, Erin O’Doherty (07)
led her team, the Vancouver Island University Mariners, to a win over
UFV, with 14 kills and 13 digs. Erin was also named Athlete of the
Week.
In NCAA competition, Cate Eckhardt (06) had 15 kills and added 10 digs as top seed Albany Great Danes fought off the Maine Black Bears, 3-1, in the semi-final round of the America East Conference Tournament. Maine setter Jessica Wolfenden (05) served up a match-high 44 assists while digging 14 balls.
In OUA Action, Tess Edwards (05) was selected Gee-Gees Player of the Game in a 3-set loss to York University.
