February 9, 2008 - The 15U CAPS were off to Kingston for the OVA 16U Girls Bugarski Cup - Zone E.  With Mother Nature on our side, we had a perfect drive down the 401.

Our first pool play match was against the Northumberland Breakers 16U.  We came out steady to win the first set 25-23, but the bigger, stronger team proved too much for the CAPS who lost the next two sets 12-25 and 6-15.  Second up was the Knight Black 15U team.  It took 3 sets again, but we prevailed and won the match 25-21, 13-25, 15-6.  The third pool play match was against the Pegasus 16U team.  Despite a terrific effort, we lost 26-28, 11-25, placing us 3rd in our pool.

Now for the all important crossover match against the Maverick Trailblazers 16U team.  These two sets were neck-and-neck, with the CAPS winning 26-24, 26-24.

The quarter finals set us up against the 1st place Ottawa Kangaroos 16U.  This was the most exciting set of the day, with great energy and a 'no ball hits the floor' attitude - but even that wasn't enough, and the girls went down in two straight (18-25, 21-25).

Our final match of the day was against Peterborough Thunder 16U.  The CAPS finished on a winning note, 25-19 and 25-10, placing us 5th overall at this 16U event.

Well done girls!!  Thanks again to coaches Cathy and Devon!
