November 3, 2007 - The CAPS 16U girls 'played-up' an age level at the OVA 17U Girls Provincial Cup - Zone E at Loyalist Collegiate Vocational Institute in Kingston this weekend and came away feeling pretty good about their first tournament together.

The 16U team has undergone significant change since last season and many of these players were playing together in a game situation for the first time.  Even with some very close losses in the first three matches to the Ottawa Mavericks (0-2), Kingston Pegasus (1-2), and Les Spartiates SDG (1-2), this group kept the pedal down and pushed hard to win their fourth match against the Ottawa Kangaroos (2-0).  The 16U CAPS ended this 17U tournament in fifth place, after another win over Ganaraska Wolves (2-1).

Since this tournament had no effect on future tournament placement it turned out to be a great tune-up for the upcoming season and convinced many that this team will achieve much success, going forward.  Thanks to the coaches and to the parents who took the day to cheer on their girls at this close-to-home event.

The 16U Girls next see action on Remembrance Day at the Volleyball Quebec Omnium 16U in Longueuil, Quebec.
