September 18, 2007 - This summer I had the privilege of playing for Team Ontario with nine other girls from across the province.  My experience with the provincial team began on July 13th at Ashbury College in Ottawa.  There were lots of CAPS girls who had made the team, so I wasn't nervous, only excited to meet the other players.  Our 18U team had three coaches; Sharon, Nick and head coach, Shane.

For two weeks we trained four hours a day and spent our down time getting to know our team better.  I'll always remember playing doctor mix up with the 17U team, or the dream game with Lorna!

During our stay in Ottawa we had the amazing experience of staying downtown at the Lord Elgin Hotel.   The Ottawa girls and I loved showing the team the Rideau Canal and the Parliament buildings.  A highlight of mine was definitely the trip to Chapters on the 20th for the Harry Potter release party.

After our training in the Capital we left for London to play in the NTCCs.  It was so great to have teams from all across the country staying in the same residence.  We had the chance to play exhibition games against BC and Alberta, which helped us prepare for the level of play that was to come.  At the end of the four-day tournament, ON1 finished 5th overall. Our team wasn't too happy with the outcome, however I know we can improve tremendously in the years to come.

When looking back on my experiences with Team Ontario, I am so grateful to have had the opportunity to play with such talented girls, while representing my province.  I have been asked several times, would you do it again?  I have no doubt in my mind, that if I were to be given this opportunity again, I would not let it pass. - Erin #7
