June 15, 2007 - As my 4th club season started in September, not only was I excited for what turned out to be the best club year of all, but I was already thinking about my plans for fall 2007.  Because I've always played with an older age group, I knew this was going to be a challenging decision.  I had the choice to stay and play another club year, or to go to university and commit to a volleyball program.

Before I knew it, weeks, if not months had passed and I had no choice but to make a decision, a good decision. If I could recommend something to the younger ones, it is that you research every school and get second opinions. Look at the programs they offer, meet the coaches, the players... I had the opportunity to travel and see other campuses in the States and across Canada, which helped alot. It was also important to choose a school where I knew I could enjoy my studies.

The schools that were at the top of my list were:
        Trinity Western (BC)
        Toronto (ON)
        Colgate (Hamilton, NY)
        Dalhousie (NS)
        OTTAWA (of course!)

Just a few weeks ago, I made the decision to play for Coach Lionel Woods and the University of Ottawa Gee-Gees. Not only will I be able to enjoy home cooked meals, but I will be training with a Top 6 team in Canada and playing with CAPS players Tess Edwards and Claudia Seguin.  I'm excited to start training with the team and to getting to know my new teammates. More importantly, I'm also looking forward to improving and continuing to grow as an athlete, on and off the court.

I will be going into a General Arts program and taking the opportunity to explore different subjects in my first year.
