Kate Eckhardt named NAIA TranSouth Athletic Conference Freshman of the Year

November 13, 2006 - CAPS Alum and Martin Methodist College Redhawk middle blocker Kate Eckhardt has been named the National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics (NAIA) TranSouth Conference's Freshman of the Year.  Eckhardt was also named to the 2006-2007 TranSouth All Conference First Team.

Eckhardt has only played in the final 47 of the team's 110 games this season, but made her presence known immediately, grabbing the starting middle position as soon as she stepped in the gym.  Congratulations Kate and best of luck to you and your teammates as the Redhawks enter the NAIA Tournament!
