CAPS TO PROVIDE COMPLIMENTARY TICKETS TO ANTON
FURLANI INTERNATIONAL CUP AT TRYOUTS
August 30, 2006 - Bob O'Doherty, President of
the National Capitals Volleyball Club, announced today that the club
has made a significant commitment towards the purchase of tickets to
the upcoming
Anton Furlani
International Cup from September 6th to 9th at
Scotiabank
Place.
"We are pleased to announce that all girls trying out for the
CAPS 15U, 16U, 17U and 18U teams on the weekend of September 9-10 will
receive complimentary tickets to the bronze and gold medal matches of
the first ever Anton Furlani International Cup slated for
2:00pm and 4:00pm on Saturday, September 9th at Scotiabank Place,"
said O'Doherty. "In order to accommodate this commitment by
the club, we have revised the CAPS tryouts schedule by moving the 16U
girls' tryouts from the afternoon of Saturday, September 9th to the
morning of Sunday, September 10th, and offering pre-registration for
our 15U and 16U tryouts on Saturday morning." O'Doherty continued,
"This action by our club is a clear indication of our commitment to
support Canada's National Team programs and the growth and
development of volleyball in the Ottawa area."
The revised schedule for CAPS 13U, 14U, 15U, 16U, 17U and
18U girls tryouts is as follows:
Saturday, Sept. 9th:

Tryout: 9:00am - 12:00 noon
15U (born 1992) and
16U (born 1991):
Pre-registration only for complimentary AFI
Cup ticket: 10:00am - 11:00am

FUNdamentals Clinic: 1:00pm - 4:00pm

15U and 16U girls must pre-register on Saturday morning to
pick up their complimentary ticket to the Anton Furlani
International Cup's bronze and gold medal games later that
day.
$20 tryout fee also gets you a CAPS t-shirt. All CAPS
tryouts are at St. Pius X High School, 1481 Fisher Avenue.
