May 3, 2006 - The 18U Girls got together on Wednesday evening at St. Pius for one last time before their swing west to compete in Volleyball Canada's Canadian Open - 17/18 & Under in Abbotsford, BC, from May 5-7.  This marks the last time that Kate Eckhardt and Melissa Zéroual will practise with the crew as club players before they graduate to the intercollegiate stage of their volleyball careers.  However, as you see from the cast of characters gathered together for this last dance, CAPS Alumni never quite go away.  The 18U Girls were joined by Kentucky Wildcat Tess Edwards, McGill Martlet Becky Lauks, York Lion Meghan O'Doherty and (just in time for pizza) Ashley Matier from the Cambrian College Golden Shield.

Perhaps this was the perfect way to bring home the fact that the NCVC will always be a home away from home, whether or not you have graduated to "the big time".  Everyone within the club wishes Kate, Mel and all the 18U Girls the best of luck on their exciting volleyball voyage to BC.  Go CAPS!
