November 28, 2005 - "We
have a winner!" Congratulations to Burak Karacep of
Vanier, winner of a $200 Loblaw's gift card from the 15U girls
team.
On the weekend of November 25th-27th, the
15U girls showed their talents for fundraising, as they spent the
weekend at the Vanier Loblaws on McArthur Road. The
manager, Mr. Fern Richer, set the girls up at the front of the
store, where they collected donations towards the grand prize - a $200
Loblaws gift card.
Supervised by the team's parents, the
girls worked together in shifts - smiling, cajoling and collecting
donations that will be directed towards their trip to
Canadian East Open - 14/15/16 & Under, being held in Moncton,
N.B. in May of 2006.
Many thanks to Diane Watt, for organizing
such a successful team fundraiser, to all the girls for representing
the club with such grace and style, to the parents who gave their time
to supervise, to each and every one of our generous donors and, most
of all, to Mr. Richer and Loblaws for their wonderful support of the
15U girls team.
