After winning a bronze medal at the season opening Ontario
Volleyball Association 16U Girls Provincial Cup - Zone E in November,
the National Capitals 16U girls team added a gold medal with a
dominating performance at the Ontario Volleyball Association 16U
Girls McGregor Cup - Zone E held in Whitby this past
Saturday, December 11th.
The #3 seed 16U CAPS started strongly by going undefeated through
the round robin portion of the tournament, defeating #9 seed Port
Perry Panthers (25-5, 25-11) and the #4 seed Ottawa
Kangaroos (25-12, 25-15). In the playoff round, the girls
continued their strong play with victories over #6 seed Kingston
Pegasus in the quarter-finals (25-22, 25-14), the host and #2
seed DRVC in the semi-finals (25-16, 25-14), and the #1 seed

"Our performance today was so much stronger than our first 16U
tournament", stated acting Head Coach Matt Harris. "We
didn't lose a set all day, our hitters played extremely well and our
opponents really struggled with our big service and blocking
game."

first two OVA 16 & Under Zone E tournaments of the year, the 16U
CAPS have qualifed for the OVA 16U Tier 1 Challenge Cup which
