Team Try-outs

Cathy O'Doherty, the Director of Volleyball Programs for the National Capital Volleyball Club (NCVC), is pleased to announce that the inaugural try-outs for the NCVC have been tentatively scheduled for Saturday, September 11, 2004 and Sunday, September 12, 2004 at St. Pius X High School, 1481 Fisher Avenue in Ottawa.

The try-out schedule has been set as follows:

Saturday, September 11, 2004
16 & Under (born in 1989 or later) Girls Team
Registration from 8:30am to 9:00am
Tryouts from 9:00am to 12:00 noon
18 & Under (born in 1987 or later) Girls Team
Registration from 12:30pm to 1:00pm
Tryouts from 1:00pm to 4:00pm

Sunday, September 12, 2004
14 & Under (born in 1991 or later) Girls Team
Registration from 8:30am to 9:00am
Tryouts from 9:00am to 12:00 noon
15 & Under (born in 1990 or later) Girls Team
Registration from 12:30pm to 1:00pm
Tryouts from 1:00pm to 4:00pm

Tryout fees are $20, which includes a Capitals t-shirt.

"With the excellent core group of coaches we have secured for our inaugural season and the experienced volunteer leadership infrastructure we have in place, I am very optimistic we will attract not only the top girls volleyball players in the Ottawa area, but many new players interested in playing competitive club volleyball", commented Cathy O'Doherty. "We plan to field a minimum of one team (12 players) in each of the above-noted age categories for the 2004-05 indoor volleyball season and I know that everyone associated with the NCVC can't wait to get started!"

Please note that the tentative try-out schedule is subject to change and any revisions to the schedule will be posted on the NCVC web site.
